How can I stop dentures being loose-fitting?
The most common reason for loose-fitting dentures is a process known as bone resorption, where the gums begin to shrink due to them no longer needing to hold your teeth in place. One way to help prevent bone resorption is by using your jaw as much as possible – even chewing solid foods should help keep your gums strong and healthy.
How to keep dentures from staining?
Brushing also can help keep the teeth from staining. Rinse your dentures before brushing to remove any loose food or debris. Use a soft-bristle toothbrush and a non-abrasive cleanser to gently brush all the surfaces of the dentures so they don’t get scratched. (We recommend Renew Denture Cleaner)
Practice Speaking
Talking can be really uncomfortable when you first start wearing dentures. Your tongue is going to feel very weird which is normal (after all, you did get a completely NEW set of teeth!). It might take a while too before you’re fully capable of speaking and annunciating your words clearly again, but that’s okay. Our best suggestion to you is to keep reading and sounding vowels out loud as it’ll help your tongue and tissues adjust faster to your new dentures.
